There has been much talk about the importance and value of a morning routine for many years now, especially among personal development gurus and committed entrepreneurs. The premise is that if you make an early start on your day and incorporate a few key pieces, you will be streets ahead of where you would otherwise be and live a richer life - in every sense of the word - because of it.
While I wholeheartedly agree with all of the above, after many years of personal experimentation, I now see morning routines through a different lens to most. You see, even the most highly recommended morning routine can quickly lose its charm if it's not a fit for us as an individual and the kind of life and experience that we want to have. If we follow it blindly we can end up feeling more robot than human, and surrender yet more of our own uniqueness and ability to create our own extRAWdinary life by following a routine that’s been designed by someone else for someone else.
When it comes to eating the way you want to eat and living the kind of life you want to live, nothing has the potential to set you up more powerfully for success than a well thought out and consciously aligned morning routine.
This is because when enough thought and strategy has gone into creating a morning routine specially designed for yourself, not only do you get a massive headstart on your day but, just as importantly, if not more so, you are taking the most positive steps right out of the gate to create the diet and life that you want, rather than getting caught up in the normal day-to-day busyness of life.
Even with the best will in the world, the chances of you eating the way you want to eat and doing the things you want to do, rapidly and powerfully diminish as soon as you start work or parenting duties, because your bandwidth is now taken up with your responsibilities and non-negotiables.
However if you take one or more hours per morning, before the demands of the day are upon you, there is untold magic that you can create in that window of time that will set a whole chain of events off in your favour, thus creating a powerful ripple effect that will work its magic from dawn to dusk.
